Monday: 2p-6p Tuesday: 2p-6p Wednesday: 10a-2p, 2p-6p Thursday: 10a-2p, 2p-6p Friday: 2p-6p Saturday: 10a-1p, 1p-4p

Our cashiers are a huge blessing to our staff who have so much to do and never enough time to accomplish it. Let us know if you are interested or have any questions.

Volunteer: Client Transportation

We are looking for volunteers willing to assist on an "on call" basis for transportation needs for clients. These transportation needs are one time trips, in many cases medical appointments, that individuals are not able to get to on their own. We match Male clients with Male drivers and Female clients with Female drivers.

We are not asking volunteers to become clients "on call rides" or to be giving rides daily or even weekly. The way it is intended to work is that occasionally we will get a request, for example, that a client has a doctor's appointment with a specialist in Holland next week Tuesday at 3pm and will last an hour. We then call our Transportation Volunteers to see if anyone is available on that day at the time. We hopefully will then be able to connect that need with a driver. Most times it is a one time need. There are times though when a client might have several repeat appointments maybe once a month for 6 months. While it is nice for the same volunteer to provide the rides it is not expected.

All of our Clients are locations in NE Ottawa County and usually need rides to Holland or Grand Rapids. If you think this is something you might occasionally be able to help with please contact us.

Volunteer: September Adopt-a-Beach Team Leaders and Volunteers

Join the thousands of people caring for our Great Lakes during the Alliance’s September Adopt-a-Beach™ Event, part of the International Coastal Cleanup. The event is scheduled for September 16, but dates and times may vary. Volunteers who participate in the event not only remove debris, they also record their findings. Last year, 15,181 volunteers removed 40,211 pounds of trash from 1,388 cleanups.

Here are two ways you can participate:

Volunteer: There are many designated locations that welcome volunteers. Volunteers will receive instructions and supplies to participate when they arrive at the event. To register, visit www.greatlakesadopt.org.
Become a team leader: Team leaders recruit and organize volunteers to carry out the event. The Alliance will provide you with step-by-step instructions and supplies, including marketing materials, gloves, data collection cards, pencils and trash bags. After the event, team leaders enter their results into the online system.

Volunteer: Adopt-A-Beach Volunteers and Team Leaders

Looking for a way to take care of your Great Lakes?  Lead or volunteer for an Adopt-a-Beach™ cleanup with the Alliance for the Great Lakes!  We’re always looking for new individuals and groups to lead cleanups or to help out at cleanups that others have planned.  Last year, 15,181 volunteers removed 40,211 pounds of trash from 1,388 cleanups.

Here are two ways you can participate:

Volunteer:  Join a group that has already organized an Adopt-a-Beach™ cleanup. Find an open event near you at greatlakesadopt.org. In addition to picking up debris, volunteers record what they find to help guide education and solutions.   Lead:  You can become a team leader and coordinate your own event at your favorite beach. Team leaders help to recruit volunteers, coordinate the day of the event and submit results from their event online. To learn more, visit our team leader webpages.
